About the role

Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a Electrical Supervisor on a 6 month contract based in Scotland. Role Summary We are seeking an experienced Electrical Supervisor to oversee electrical installation and maintenance works within substation environments. This is a 6-month contract position engaged through a Limited Company (Ltd). The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising on-site electrical activities, ensuring all work is completed safely, to specification, and in compliance with relevant regulations and authorisation frameworks. Key Responsibilities • Supervise electrical installation, testing and commissioning activities on substation projects • Read, interpret and mark up engineering drawings using reds and greens notation to record as-built conditions and site modifications • Complete and maintain Inspection and Completion Records (ICRs) accurately throughout the project lifecycle • Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with SSE authorisation documentation and safe systems of work • Conduct and record toolbox talks, inductions and briefings for site personnel • Liaise with the Project Manager, client representatives and other trades to coordinate site activities • Monitor compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements at all times • Identify and escalate any technical or safety issues promptly • Maintain accurate site records, daily diaries and progress reports Requirements • Proven experience as an Electrical Supervisor, with demonstrable substation project experience • Competent in reading and interpreting electrical engineering drawings; proficient in reds/greens mark-up methodology • Previous experience completing Inspection and Completion Records (ICRs) • CSCS card — Gold Card or equivalent (e.g. ECS Gold Card) as a minimum • Strong working knowledge of electrical safe systems of work and permit-to-work procedures • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to manage a site team effectively Desirable Qualifications & Certifications • SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme) or equivalent • C3 SSE Authorisation (or equivalent DNO/TSO authorisation level) • HND / HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent trade qualification • Experience working within DNO or transmission network environments • First Aid at Work certificate Our Company Rubicon Consulting is a Talent management consultancy which helps you to optimise business performance and competitive advantage by choosing the right people first time
