Tax Manager

Your new company

You will be joining a large, international organisation with a significant presence across the UK and Europe, operating within a fast-paced and commercially focused environment. Due to continued growth, the business has created a new Tax Manager position within its finance function, offering the opportunity to take ownership of a broad tax remit and work closely with stakeholders across the wider organisation.

Your new role

This is a newly created Tax Manager position with a varied remit spanning UK and international VAT / indirect tax, corporation tax, tax governance, advisory and project work. You will take responsibility for overseeing VAT compliance across the organisation's international footprint, maintaining a strong tax control environment and managing relationships with external advisers and tax authorities. You will work closely with senior management and teams across finance, operations, sales and IT, as well as the wider global tax function. The role will also provide exposure to Pillar Two, transfer pricing, acquisitions, restructurings, international supply flows, tax technology and e-invoicing projects. You will review corporation tax calculations and provisions and identify opportunities to improve and standardise tax processes through technology.You will also have responsibility for managing and developing one direct report, making this a strong opportunity for someone looking to combine hands-on technical tax work with business partnering and people management.

What you'll need to succeed

You will ideally be CTA, ACA, ACCA or equivalently qualified, with at least five years' relevant tax experience gained within industry or practice. You will have strong knowledge of UK tax, exposure to European tax matters and experience of VAT, alongside an interest in developing broader indirect tax expertise. You will be comfortable managing multiple priorities, projects and external advisers and able to communicate complex tax matters clearly to non-tax stakeholders. Strong analytical and Excel skills are important, while previous people management experience would be advantageous.
