Teaching Assistant – Manual Handling Certificate Required Location: Tower Hamlets, East London Salary: £95 - £120 per day (depending on experience) Job Type: Full-Time | Long-Term | Term Time Only Start Date: September 2026 Experienced SEN Teaching Assistant Required Teaching Consultancy is working with a supportive and inclusive school in Tower Hamlets to recruit an experienced Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The successful candidate will be working with pupils with a range of needs, including Autism (ASC), Physical Disabilities, Complex Needs, PMLD, MLD and communication difficulties. As this role involves supporting pupils with mobility and personal care, a valid Manual Handling certificate is essential. Essential Requirements To be considered for this role, you must have: * A valid Manual Handling certificate (essential) * Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a UK school * Experience supporting pupils with SEN, SEND, PMLD, ASC or Physical Disabilities * Experience with personal care and mobility support is desirable * A calm, caring and patient approach * Strong communication and behaviour management skills * An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) * The right to work in the UK Your Responsibilities * Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional needs. * Assist pupils with personal care, mobility and physical support where required. * Use safe Manual Handling techniques in line with school policies. * Support pupils with Autism, Complex Needs and Physical Disabilities throughout the school day. * Encourage independence, confidence and engagement in learning. * Work alongside teachers, therapists and other professionals to provide the best outcomes for pupils. * Help maintain a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
