Job Overview
Full-time, term time only (plus 10 days in the holidays). Start date as soon as possible. GDST Support staff Grade 4 - £30,723-£40,989 (£25,325 - £33,788 pro rata).
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Head of Careers to lead the delivery of our careers education, information, advice and guidance programme for pupils from Year 7 through to Year 13. Additional duties include organising an age‑appropriate careers programme in the Prep School, leading regular assemblies, careers information sessions, and organising guest speakers. The role will support the Year 9 and Year 11 options process, oversee Year 10 and Year 11 work experience programmes, and lead the UCAS application process. The position is aimed at empowering girls to make informed choices about their future careers and higher education pathways.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the careers education, information, advice and guidance programme for Years 7-13.
- Organise an age‑appropriate careers programme in the Prep School.
- Lead regular assemblies and careers information sessions and coordinate guest speakers.
- Support Year 9 and Year 11 options process.
- Oversee Year 10 and Year 11 work‑experience programmes.
- Lead the UCAS application process.
- Ensure compliance with Gatsby Benchmarks and empower girls to pursue informed career decisions.
Qualifications and Experience
- Self‑motivated, proactive with excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Experience advising young people on career options.
- Sound understanding of current developments in careers education, labour market trends, and university admissions.
