Telehandler Operator – Premium Residential Development Rate: £21.00 per hour Location: Haywards Heath, West Sussex Contract: Temporary (12 Months) | Start Date: August 2026 Atkinson Baker Associates are currently recruiting a highly skilled Telehandler Operator on behalf of an Award-Winning Boutique Residential Developer. The Client Our client focuses on the delivery of exceptional, high-specification residential developments. Due to the launch of a new, long-term project in Haywards Heath starting in August, they require a highly proficient Telehandler to serve as the logistical backbone of the site for the next 12 months. The Role You will be responsible for the safe and precise operation of the telescopic handler, ensuring all trades are constantly supplied with the materials they need to keep the build on programme. Your duties will include: Machine Operation: Operating the Telehandler safely and efficiently, navigating tight residential site constraints. Logistics & Distribution: Unloading daily deliveries from HGVs and distributing bricks, blocks, timber, and mortar to the relevant workfronts. Plant Maintenance: Conducting daily safety checks, keeping maintenance records, and ensuring the machine is kept in pristine condition. Flexibility: When the machine is quiet, jumping out of the cab to assist site management with general tasks as required. Requirements Essential: A valid CPCS Card (Blue preferred) OR NPORS Card specifically for Telescopic Handler. Experience: Extensive experience operating a Telehandler on active, fast-paced residential construction sites. Safety: A spotless safety record and a deep understanding of lifting operations and load capacities. Essential: Full 5-point PPE. Location & Commute Haywards Heath, West Sussex.
