Job Title: SEND Teacher Location: Trimdon Hill School, Durham, TS29 6EY Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Monday–Friday (Monday: 8.30am–5.00pm | Tuesday: 8.30am–4.30pm | Wednesday: 8.30am–5.00pm | Thursday & Friday: 8.30am–4.00pm) Salary: £42,500 per annum (not pro rata) Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only Start: May 2026 UK applicants only – no sponsorship available About the Role This is your chance to teach differently — where creativity is encouraged, individuality is celebrated, and pupil wellbeing is just as important as academic success. As a Teacher, you will take a creative approach to teaching pupils according to their educational needs, ensuring delivery of the school curriculum in a way that maximises pupil’s achievement and ability to develop. As a SEND Teacher, you'll: Deliver tailored, engaging lessons that meet each pupil’s unique needs Create an inclusive and stimulating classroom where every child can thrive Develop creative teaching strategies that spark curiosity and boost confidence Work closely with a highly skilled multidisciplinary team Track progress and champion both academic and personal development Help shape a safe, nurturing environment where pupils feel understood and empowered Who We're Looking For We’re looking for a qualified, passionate and adaptable teacher who truly believes in the potential of every child. About Us Trimdon Hill School is a brand-new independent specialist school in Trimdon Grange, County Durham, supporting pupils aged 4–11 with autism and associated complex needs.
Opened in June 2025, we provide a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where every child is supported to SHINE. Our personalised, autism-informed curriculum develops communication, social interaction, and curiosity through rich, inclusive learning. Working closely with families and clinical professionals, we support each child’s progress, independence, and readiness for the next stage of education.
For over 19 years, Options Autism has provided specialist care and education for children, young people, and adults with autism, complex needs, and learning difficulties.
