Head Chef – Event Catering

Job Description We are recruiting for an experienced Head Chef to join an established and growing event catering business. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on and commercially minded chef to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the kitchen, supporting the delivery of high-quality food across a busy programme of events. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a high-volume event catering environment, managing a kitchen team and ensuring food is prepared, produced and delivered to consistently high standards. Key Responsibilities * Lead and manage the kitchen team across preparation and event production * Oversee the day-to-day running of the kitchen * Plan and organise food preparation for upcoming events * Ensure food is produced consistently to a high standard * Manage large-volume production and service * Monitor stock, ordering, food costs and wastage * Ensure all food safety, hygiene and health & safety standards are maintained * Train, motivate and develop kitchen staff * Work closely with the events and management teams * Ensure kitchens are organised and fully prepared for each event * Maintain high standards of cleanliness and kitchen organisation * Remain hands-on and lead by example during busy periods About You * Previous experience as a Head Chef, Executive Chef or Senior Sous Chef * Strong experience within event catering, contract catering or high-volume hospitality * Proven experience managing and developing a kitchen team * Comfortable with large-scale food production * Strong organisational and time-management skills * Excellent knowledge of food safety and HACCP * Commercially aware with experience managing food costs and wastage * Calm and effective under pressure * A hands-on leader with a genuine passion for food and hospitality * Flexible to work around the requirements of the events calendar What’s on Offer? * Salary of £50,000-£60,000 +benefits * Permanent, full-time position * Opportunity to work with an established event catering business * Varied and exciting events * Opportunity to lead and develop a kitchen team * Career development and progression If you are an experienced Head Chef with a strong event catering background and are looking for your next opportunity, we’d love to hear from you
