HGV 1 Driver

At Job&Talent, we are recruiting for a Class 1 driver to work with a leading retail company in Shirebrook. This role involves transporting goods safely and efficiently across various locations, ensuring that all deliveries are completed with a high standard of service.

Shift patterns:
* 15 - 20 hours of double-manned work.

Pay rates:
* £18.40 - £34.50 hourly

Essential requirements for Class 1:
* Full UK Driving Licence (C+E)
* Digital Tachograph Card + CPC (Driver Qualification)
* No experience required
* No more than 6 points on licence (including DR, DD, IN, TT)

Soft skills requirements for Class 1:
* Reliability & punctuality: consistently on time and dependable for shifts
* Professional attitude: represents the company well at all times
* Good problem-solving skills: able to handle delays, route changes, or issues calmly and effectively
* Attention to detail: careful with paperwork, vehicle checks, and delivery instructions
* Team player: works well with transport office, loaders, and other drivers
* Customer-focused approach: polite and respectful when dealing with clients and delivery points

Role tasks for Class 1:
* Safely transport goods to various locations
* Perform regular vehicle checks to ensure safety and compliance
* Maintain accurate delivery paperwork and follow specific instructions
* Communicate effectively with the transport office and loading teams
* Ensure punctuality and adherence to delivery schedules
