They are seeking an Operations Manager to work with them on a permanent basis. The responsibilities of the Operations Manager will include:Oversee processing of all domestic and international paymentsEnsure payment instructions are verified, authorised, and released per policyReview and improve operational processesEnsure tasks meet SLAs with high accuracy and control standardsMaintain strong controls (segregation of duties, maker-checker, policy adherence)Lead, mentor, and develop team performance and succession planningSupport internal and external auditsManage resourcing, staff engagement, performance reviews, and trainingPromote accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvementEnsure compliance with regulatory requirements, AML/KYC, and segregation of dutiesLead quality control across operations and client service deliveryCoordinate priorities through regular meetings with department headsAuthorise payments and operational messages as requiredApprove invoices and contribute to budgeting with COOIdentify and implement process improvements, automation, and system enhancementsLead/support change initiatives, system upgrades, and SWIFT-related projectsStrengthen operational resilience, business continuity, and disaster recoverySupport COO with planning and key business decisionsOversee implementation of new/updated products and processesAct as authorised signatory where requiredIdentify, manage, and escalate risks appropriatelyManage operational business contractsProduce regular management information (MI) reportsEnsure compliance with laws, policies, training, and reporting obligationsSupport operational resilience training and incident responseLead, motivate, and develop team through reviews and 1-1sSupport recruitment, onboarding, and staff developmentEnsure continuous training and development for staffThe candidate will have: Degree-level education or equivalent experience in banking/financial servicesMinimum 5+ years’ banking experienceStrong background in banking operations and payments processing in regulated environmentsKnowledge of payment schemes (SWIFT, BACS, Direct Debits) and operational requirementsFamiliarity with Equation Banking system (advantageous)Understanding of AML, sanctions, PSRs, and financial crime risks in paymentsExperience managing teams in fast-paced operational settingsKnowledge of operations, third-party vendor management, private banking, treasury, risk, and compliance
