Construction Site Supervisor (M&E)

On behalf of our multinational client, Orion Group Sciences is seeking a client side Construction Site Supervisor with specific experience in mechanical and/or electrical installation type projects on industrial sites.  Role Purpose The Site Supervisor is responsible for the day‑to‑day supervision and coordination of mechanical and electrical installation works on site. The role ensures that M&E works are delivered safely, to specification, on programme, and to the required quality standards, while coordinating effectively with other trades and disciplines.   Key Responsibilities Supporting local Project Managers to supervise mechanical and electrical installation works, including: HVAC systems Pipework and plumbing Electrical containment, cabling, and terminations Plant and equipment installationEnsure works are carried out in accordance with: Approved drawings and specifications (collecting visual evidence to confirm/support) Method statements and RAMS Relevant standards and regulations (e.g. BS, CIBSE, IET)Monitor and control the schedule as per the project’s construction programme Monitor progress and report delays, variations, or technical issues Maintain daily site records and progress reports Qualifications & Training SSSTS or SMSTS (mandatory) CSCS Supervisory Card (M&E relevant) Electrical or Mechanical trade qualification (NVQ / City & Guilds or equivalent) First Aid at Work (desirable) Relevant permits and certifications (e.g. HV/LV awareness, confined spaces, hot works)Experience Proven experience supervising M&E works on live construction sites Strong background in either mechanical or electrical discipline (or both) Experience supporting testing, commissioning, and handover phasesThe role is released on an initial 6-month contract basis, but does have the potential for extenstion for an additional 12-months.  People are our business worldwide   Orion Group was founded in 1987 and is now one of the largest, independent, international recruitment companies.
