LGV Mechanic HGV Technician

D. C. Merrett & Co Ltd is a family-run business based just south of Gloucester. For over 30 years, we’ve specialised in abnormal load heavy haulage, wastewater logistics, and commercial engineering. We’re looking for an experienced *Commercial Vehicle Engineer* to join our skilled workshop team of 4–5 engineers. The role will involve a mix of workshop and off-site work, including call-outs and breakdowns, so flexibility is key. A company van will be provided for off-site jobs. *What you’ll do:* * Carry out servicing, inspections, and repairs on our fleet of commercial vehicles and trailers * Diagnose and fix mechanical faults quickly and effectively * Maintain vehicles to the highest standards to support our day-to-day operations * Work both independently and as part of a close-knit team * Keep the workshop environment safe, clean, and organised *What we’re looking for:* * NVQ Level 2 or above (or equivalent qualification) * At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role * Solid knowledge of a range of commercial lorries * A proactive, hands-on approach and a strong work ethic If you take pride in your work, enjoy variety in your day, and want to be part of a respected local business, we’d like to hear from you.
