SysOps / DevOps Engineer

The RoleA growing technology business is looking for a skilled SysOps / DevOps Engineer to help build, scale, and maintain the infrastructure underpinning its platforms. This role sits at the intersection of software engineering and infrastructure, with a focus on reliability, automation, and performance.You will play a key role in ensuring systems are secure, scalable, and highly available in a fast-paced, real-time environment. Working closely with engineering, product, and external partners, you will support robust infrastructure and smooth deployment processes.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain and scale both cloud infrastructure and on-premise environmentsImplement and enhance CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOpsMaintain secure and resilient network infrastructure, including connectivity with third-party providersEnsure platform reliability through effective alerting and incident responseMonitor system performance and collaborate with QA and technical teams to drive continuous improvementSupport efficient development and release practices alongside engineering and product teamsTroubleshoot production issues in a time-sensitive environmentImplement automation to reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiencyContribute to the continuous improvement of DevOps practices, tooling, and standardsExplore and leverage AI tools to enhance productivity and monitoring capabilitiesProvide support for global users across multiple time zonesRequired Skill SetSolid understanding of infrastructure, system administration, and deployment workflowsExperience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipeline automationExperience managing cloud infrastructure, networking, and private network connectivityStrong understanding of networking concepts, including security principlesExperience with containerisation technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and alerting toolsUnderstanding of web hosting platforms (e.g. IIS, Nginx)Familiarity with high-availability or real-time systems (experience in financial services environments advantageous)Exposure to or interest in AI-assisted tooling for scripting, automation, or monitoringApply today!Location:Newcastle upon TyneTyne and WearNewcastle upon TyneNE12 8BXSalary:50000 - 60000Sector:Devops  Type:PermanentPosted:03/30/2026
