Contract: Initial 3-Month Contract

Working Arrangements: 3-4 Days On Site

Pay Rate: £500-£600 per day

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Interim Service Manager to join a Local Authority in the Eastern Region, supporting a Children with Disabilities Service during a key period of improvement and transformation.

This role will play a pivotal part in driving service improvement, overseeing the delivery of a Short Breaks provision, and supporting the wider Children with Disabilities Service to achieve positive outcomes for children, young people, and their families.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support service improvement initiatives across the Children with Disabilities Service.
• Oversee the delivery, development, and quality assurance of Short Breaks provision for children and young people with disabilities.
• Drive operational excellence and embed best practice across teams.
• Support managers and practitioners through service developments and change programmes.
• Act as a key link between strategic objectives and frontline service delivery.
• Contribute to service redesign, transformation projects, and continuous improvement activity.
• Provide budget oversight and support sound financial decision-making.

Skills/Experience

• Recent management experience within a Children with Disabilities Service.
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, statutory responsibilities, and Children's Services practice.
• Proven track record of leading service improvement and successfully managing change.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Able to balance strategic leadership with a hands-on operational approach.
• Experience using Liquidlogic and performance reporting tools would be advantageous.
