Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer Location: Preston, Lancashire, UK Salary: £50,000 per year Hours: Full-time, Contis 4 on 4 off 12 hour days and nights Contract: Permanent Role Overview We are seeking a Multi-Skilled Engineer to join our busy manufacturing site.
The following information provides an overview of the skills, qualities, and qualifications needed for this role.
You will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical, electrical, and control systems across production equipment to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on all plant machinery.
Diagnose and repair faults in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems .
Work with PLCs and control systems to troubleshoot automation and production line issues.
Install, commission, and modify equipment as required.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and company procedures.
Requirements Proven experience as a multi-skilled engineer in manufacturing/industrial environments.
Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills .
Experience with PLCs, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and production machinery .
Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and manuals .
Flexible, proactive, and able to work independently or as part of a team. xwzovoh
