Job Type: Permanent Start Date: Immediate Industry: Construction / Refurbishment / Roofing / Building Maintenance Location: South East London Salary & Package: Competitive, depending on experience The Role & About the Client ITS Building People are currently recruiting for an experienced Estimator on behalf of an established construction contractor operating across South East and Central London. The business delivers a diverse range of construction and specialist building projects, including high-end residential refurbishment, roofing, waterproofing, fire protection, building maintenance and insurance reinstatement works. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Estimator to join a growing business and play an integral role in the pricing and tendering of a varied range of construction and refurbishment projects. Key Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To: Preparing accurate estimates, tenders and pricing for construction projects. Reviewing tender documentation, drawings, specifications and scopes of work. Producing detailed cost plans and pricing information. Carrying out measurements and assessing quantities from drawings and tender information. Obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations. Preparing tender submissions and ensuring pricing is accurate and competitive. Reviewing project requirements and identifying potential costs, risks and opportunities. Producing RFIs where further clarification is required from clients or professional teams. Working closely with Contracts Managers and the wider team throughout the tender process. Attending site visits and surveys where required. Presenting tender bids for review and adjudication. Maintaining accurate estimating records and documentation. Managing multiple enquiries and tender deadlines. Supporting the successful handover of projects following a successful tender. The Ideal Candidate Will Have: Previous experience working as an Estimator within the construction industry. Experience pricing construction and refurbishment projects. Strong understanding of construction methods, costs and pricing. Experience working with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive quotations. Ability to understand and interpret drawings, specifications and scopes of work. Good understanding of measurement and estimating processes. Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail. Experience working across multiple tenders and managing deadlines. Strong communication and negotiation skills. Good IT and Excel skills. A proactive approach and ability to work on own initiative. Experience across high-end residential refurbishment, commercial refurbishment, roofing, waterproofing, fire protection, building maintenance, insurance reinstatement, planned and reactive works or general building works would be advantageous. Experience within Central London residential refurbishment would be particularly advantageous.
