Gas Quality Engineer

Salary: £31,300, with a £1,500 increase following basic training (usually 6 months). Location: Uttoxeter (with national travel and occasional offshore/international work) Benefits: Company van, accommodation and travel expenses Hours: (days) Mon to Fri Duration: Perm World-leading industrial gases and engineering company urgently require a Gas Quality Engineer to carry out performance evaluations on gas analysis equipment at customers sites across the UK, offshore, and internationally. This is an excellent development opportunity for someone with a strong scientific or technical background who is eager to learn. You’ll receive full training, spending the first six months paired with an experienced engineer before progressing to working independently on customer sites. Key Responsibilities • Carry out performance evaluations on gas analysis equipment • Test gas emissions and calibrate instrumentation • Analyse collected data to produce high-quality technical reports • Assist and coordinate with Sales, Logistics and other departments to ensure a seamless delivery of the service to the customers • Maintain accurate records and ensure competent use of databases and documentation systems in accordance with the quality system and technical processes • Prepare and maintain equipment ahead of site visits • Collect and analyse technical data • Produce clear and professional technical reports • Liaise with customers and deliver excellent on-site service • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery Requirements • Strong academic background – ideally GCSEs / A-levels in Maths and Science an advantage • Strong initiative, with the ability to learn quickly and work independently • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Good organisational skills and attention to detail • Flexibility to travel across the UK (some offshore/international work required) • Full UK driving licence essential What’s on Offer • Starting salary £31,300 with a £1,500 increase following basic training (usually 6 months). • Company van for site travel • Accommodation covered when working away • Performance-related bonus scheme • Generous pension scheme with up to 10.7% employer contributions • 25 days holiday + bank holidays (option to buy more) • Healthcare support and employee assistance programme • Clear career progression and excellent training/development opportunities My client is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome, valued and empowered to bring their whole selves to work every day.
