The Role
Working within a busy workshop environment, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a fleet of HGVs, trucks, trailers, and associated transport equipment to ensure maximum vehicle uptime and compliance standards are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
Servicing, maintaining, and repairing HGV trucks and trailers
Diagnosing mechanical faults and carrying out repairs efficiently
Conducting vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance
Completing pre-MOT inspections in line with DVSA standards
Supporting the maintenance of site transport and ancillary equipment
Accurately completing maintenance records and workshop paperwork
Ensuring high standards of workshop housekeeping and health & safety compliance
Assisting with breakdown support and ad-hoc maintenance tasks where required
About You
Qualified HGV Technician / Mechanic with a recognised qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
Previous experience servicing and repairing HGVs and trailers
Strong mechanical diagnostic and fault-finding skills
Good understanding of DVSA regulations and workshop safety procedures
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Strong attention to detail and time management skills
Full UK Driving Licence required
Class 1 (C+E) licence advantageous but not essential
