About the role

Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for Commercial Manager on a Permanent Basis, based in UK Wide. Role Summary Project Oversight: Effective Governance ensures the portfolio of projects that the company undertakes follow best practice in contract and claim management methodologies, protecting the company’s commercial interests while remaining in accordance with internal standard procedures. Procurement: Support the individual project teams in rationalizing the procurement strategy for downstream works packages. Ensure due process is being fulfilled when adjudicating on bid returns and engage in final negotiations as required. Maintain oversight to validate that Head Contract Liabilities are recognized and flowed down to the supply chain. Support central procurement team in negotiation with Equipment Manufacturers and Major Material Suppliers. Head Contract Administration: (from project kick-off to project closure) liase with the Project Teams to evaluate the contract requirements (including terms and conditions, specifications, drawings, estimate, proposal, schedule and other documents incorporated in the contract) and highlight areas of potential risk. Ensures timely and accurate execution of commercial aspects in portfolio of contracts (i.e. payments, claims, variation orders, warranties, provisions, guarantees, etc.). Support the Project Leader with guidance and drafting of all contractual correspondences upstream. Subcontract Administration: Provide oversight and guidance to the Project Teams for the effective administration of our domestic subcontracts and supply agreements to ensure the awarded scope is delivered as prescribed with all contractual obligations duly satisfied. Monitor the processes and controls to ensure timely valuation, certification and payment. Project Reporting: In accordance with reporting schedule and in concert with Project Manager and functional teams prepare the Monthly Project Report which will include information pertaining to Schedule Status, Procurement Update, Cash Flow, Cost / Value Reconciliation, Risk & Opportunity Register. Risk management: Analyzes contract terms to highlight areas of potential opportunity and risk, such as ambiguities, omissions and conflicts, as work proceeds. Seeks advice from Legal to draft, negotiate and finalize agreements during the Sales and Project Execution phases. Develops and implements risk mitigation and opportunity plan in concert with Project Manager with regular reporting and early warnings being provided to Senior Management. Requirements * Degree in Quantity Surveying or Engineering * Further Qualification in Construction Law is beneficial but not mandatory. * Relevant Professional Membership (RICS, CIArb) is desirable. * Experience with being in Commercial Management role having oversight on multiple projects/teams. * Experience working with Tier 1 Contractors preferred. * Familiarity with administration of NEC and FIDIC Suite of Contracts (Red,Yellow & Silver) is essential.
