Job Title: Operations Manager / Account Manager Salary: £50,000 per annum + Company Car Location: Office-based in Greater Manchester with regular site visits Sector: Reactive & External Maintenance Projects Overview We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager / Account Manager to oversee the smooth day-to-day running of a busy maintenance department. The role will be primarily office-based in Greater Manchester, with regular visits to live sites. This position is ideal for a proactive, organised manager with strong people skills and experience in reactive and external maintenance environments. Key Responsibilities Department Management Oversee the operational performance of the department Ensure reactive and external maintenance projects are delivered efficiently and to a high standard Act as the main point of contact for key client accounts Fleet Management Manage and maintain the company vehicle fleet Monitor usage, servicing schedules, compliance, and costs Training & Development Coordinate and manage staff training requirements Ensure operatives remain compliant with required certifications and standards Carry out regular appraisals and performance reviews Problem Solving & Operational Support Resolve operational, staff, and site-related issues efficiently Provide hands-on support to supervisors and operatives as required Support continuous improvement across processes and performance Financial & Commercial Duties Oversee invoices and ensure accurate and timely processing Support cost control and budget management within the department Liaise with clients regarding queries, variations, and service performance Site & Client Interaction Regularly visit sites to monitor progress and standards Maintain strong working relationships with clients, contractors, and internal teams Ensure health & safety standards are upheld across all activities Skills & Experience Required Proven experience in an Operations Manager, Account Manager, or similar role Background in reactive and external maintenance projects Strong people-management and leadership skills Experience managing fleets, training, and staff appraisals Confident problem-solver with excellent organisational skills Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Full UK driving licence (essential) What's on Offer Competitive salary of £50,000 Company car Stable, office-based role with local site travel Opportunity to lead and shape a key operational department within the business
