Due to continued growth, we are seeking an Occupational Hygiene & HazMat Consultant to join our team and deliver high-quality workplace health, safety and HAZMAT solutionsWe've recently delivered asbestos, HAZMAT, occupational hygiene consultancy services for clients such as:Department of EducationAustralia PostWestpacNSWPFSydney TrainsMater Health ServicesSafeWork AustraliaCSIROGlencoreThis is an exciting role with overtime opportunities, great working conditions, and a diverse team of experts to support you towards achieving your career goals. This includes training and mentoring to develop your skills in the role.What you’ll doYou'll form part of a high performing regional team and support with the following tasks:Conduct sampling for various airborne contaminants such as respirable crystalline silica, dust, and chemicals, as well as physical hazards such as noise and vibration, in order to provide technical recommendations to protect worker healthDevelop asbestos monitoring and decontamination strategies, issuing clearancesUndertake site surveys including sampling of suspected hazardous building materials and pre-demolition surveysProvide technical guidance on sites during asbestos removal projects; andConduct indoor air quality, mould and moisture assessments, as well as providing recommendations on the remediation of mould or moisture impacted buildingsManage a diverse range of small-medium scale projectsAssist the team with strategy and business developmentAnalyse data and prepare technical reports and proposals with support from senior staff, including technical specialists and Certified Occupational Hygienists About youYou're enthusiastic, a team player, and eager to make a positive impact in occupational hygiene and hazardous materials consulting by contributing to the safety and well-being of others.You will ideally bring some of the following:Ideally a degree or diploma in Applied Science, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or related disciplineAsbestos Assessor License or willingness to obtainDemonstrated experience in occupational hygiene or a related fieldHands-on experience in hazard identification, exposure monitoring and risk assessmentExperience using air sampling equipment and interpreting results (e.g. dust, fibres, asbestos)Strong technical report writing and data analysis skillsUnderstanding of relevant legislation, standards and risk management frameworksAbility to manage competing priorities and deliver quality outcomesExcellent communication, collaboration and client engagement skillsA current driver’s license and willingness to undertake field-based workImagine a better future for you and a better future for us all.Join our close-knit community of talented individuals who share your passion for making a positive impact.
