TKMS ATLAS UK is looking for a Principal Electrical Engineer to drive the design and integration of electrical systems across our advanced sonar, submarine, and autonomous technology programmes. Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of electrical systems for complex maritime products
• Define architectures, select components, and ensure safety and EMC compliance
• Produce and review schematics, wiring diagrams and cable assemblies
• Support integration, testing and commissioning activities
• Conduct design reviews and maintain documentation accuracy
• Coaching and mentoring junior engineers to grow team capability
• Collaborate with suppliers, customers and multidisciplinary teams

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline)
• Strong knowledge of electrical system design, including power distribution and control systems
• Experience with CAD tools and CE/UKCA directives
• Familiarity with EMC, electrical safety and industry standards
• System‑level integration and debugging experience
• Experience with PLCs, motor control or automation desirable
• Strong communication, problem‑solving and team‑working skills with leadership ability
