About the role
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Maths Teacher with SEMH experience to join our educational team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging mathematics lessons to students across various age groups, fostering a positive learning environment, and supporting students' academic growth. Prior experience in mentoring, special education, or scientific research is desirable, alongside strong communication skills and behaviour management abilities.
Duties
Prepare and deliver comprehensive mathematics lessons tailored to the curriculum and student needs.
Assess student progress through regular testing and provide constructive feedback to support their development.
Utilise diverse teaching methods, including tutoring and laboratory activities, to enhance understanding of mathematical concepts.
Manage classroom behaviour effectively to create a safe and conducive learning environment.
Support students with special educational needs by adapting teaching strategies accordingly.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum materials and share best practices.
Engage in professional development activities related to maths education, biochemistry, or scientific research.
Proofread and review educational materials for accuracy and clarity before use in lessons.
Mentor students in their academic pursuits, including tutoring sessions outside regular class hours when necessary.Skills
Strong knowledge of mathematics (Math) with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
Experience or familiarity with biochemistry or laboratory work is advantageous for integrating scientific research into lessons.
Excellent communication skills to engage students effectively and collaborate with colleagues.
Proven behaviour management skills to maintain discipline and foster a positive classroom atmosphere.
Ability to mentor and tutor students individually or in small groups, adapting approaches as needed.
Experience in special education settings is desirable for supporting diverse learner needs.
