A highly regarded specialist criminal law firm is seeking an experienced Criminal Duty Solicitor to join its established team in Hounslow, West London.

The Role

As a Criminal Duty Solicitor, you will be responsible for:

• Representing clients detained at police stations.

• Managing your own caseload of criminal defence matters across a broad range of offences.

• Providing high-quality advice and representation to publicly funded clients.

• Conducting advocacy in the Magistrates Court.

• Working closely with colleagues to deliver an excellent standard of client care.

• Managing deadlines and caseloads effectively while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.

About You

We are looking for a solicitor who has:

• At least 1 years PQE in criminal defence.

• Criminal Duty Solicitor accreditation is preferred but not essential; candidates without accreditation will be supported in obtaining it.

• Strong advocacy and communication skills.

• Experience representing clients at police stations and in the Magistrates Court.

• Excellent organisational and case-management skills.

• Confidence working independently while contributing positively to a team.

• Good IT skills and experience using case-management systems.

• The ability to manage a demanding caseload and work effectively under pressure.

• A pragmatic, professional and positive approach.

• A genuine commitment to publicly funded criminal defence work.

• Excellent client-care and relationship-building skills.
