Part-time Payroll Assistant

Payroll Assistant (Part time) | £32,000-£35,000 pro rata | Preston & Hybrid | 20-30 hours | Great team and working culture | Fantastic benefits Axon Moore are pleased to be working in partnership with a highly valued client in Preston as they recruit for an experienced Payroll specialist. This is a flexible and accommodating role which is being recruited on a part-time basis between 20-30 hours. This role will be well suited to experienced payroll administrators who are seeking to achieve a more favourable work/life balance. Key Responsibilities and Duties: Collating monthly payroll data for circa 400 staff Resolving internal/external queries Reconciling payroll entries Ensure compliance with statutory benchmarks Calculating maternity/paternity pay Processing new starters and staff departures Administration of company benefits, overtime, commissions, etc. Maintenance of accurate employee records Reporting of pension data to scheme advisors Other ad-hoc duties Required Skills and Experience: At least 2 years’ payroll experience Able to efficiently manage and organise their workload Microsoft Excel and Sage proficient Professionalism and confidentiality Keeping up to date with payroll practices and legislation A good understanding of PAYE, NI, RTI SMP, SSP and other HMRC statutory regulations Exceptional attention to detail Proactive and self-motivated in nature Able to work efficiently towards deadlines Package and Benefits Include: Starting salary up to £35,000 pro rata Hybrid working Company pension scheme Staff sales/discounts Plus other additional benefits “Our local Lancashire Axon Moore team recruit all accounting and finance roles from CFO to transactional finance on both a temporary and permanent basis.
