Why You’ll Love It

If you're looking for somewhere to really develop as a Podiatrist, rather than simply being handed a diary and left to get on with it, this is a lovely opportunity.

Our client is open to both newly qualified and experienced Podiatrists, with the support shaped around where you are in your career. There's a proper induction, mentoring, protected CPD time and funded specialist training, alongside the freedom to explore the areas of Podiatry that genuinely interest you.

For a newly qualified Podiatrist, there's plenty of support to help you build confidence. If you're more experienced, there's the clinical variety, technology and scope to keep developing rather than feeling you've hit a ceiling.

All About You

We’re looking for a Podiatrist who genuinely cares about delivering excellent patient care and wants to keep developing clinically.

Essential:

  • Degree in Podiatry

  • HCPC registered as a Podiatrist, or soon to be registered if newly qualified

  • Strong communication and patient-care skills

  • Evidence-based approach to assessment and treatment

  • Comfortable developing towards autonomous clinical practice

  • Collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to the wider team

  • Keen to learn and explore areas of specialist interest

  • Available for a minimum of 3 days per week

  • Able to work one evening per week on rotation

  • Able to reliably commute to Ilminster. If you're travelling from further afield, having your own transport may make the journey easier

Previous private practice experience and experience across a broader range of Podiatry treatments would be welcomed but are not essential.

Newly qualified Podiatrists are very welcome to apply.

What Will You Be Doing?

You’ll manage a varied clinic-based Podiatry caseload, assessing foot health, diagnosing pathology and developing appropriate treatment plans around each patient’s individual needs and goals.

You’ll have the opportunity to work across a broad scope of Podiatry, including Swift, needling, nail surgery, ABPI/TPI, Kardia, pressure analysis and bespoke orthotic prescription.

Patient education and preventative care are an important part of the role too. You’ll build ongoing relationships with patients, support self-management and help them achieve the best possible long-term outcomes.

You’ll work autonomously as your confidence and experience develop, while having access to mentoring, case discussion and support from the wider clinical team.

Working Hours and Environment

This is a full-time or part-time permanent employed position, with a minimum commitment of 3 days per week.

There is flexibility around the working pattern, which will be agreed with the successful candidate, but you’ll need to participate in a rota covering one evening per week.

Clinic opening hours are:

  • Monday: 8:30am – 6:30pm

  • Tuesday to Thursday: 8:30am – 5:30pm

  • Friday: 8:30am – 12:30pm

You’ll be based in a modern four-room private clinic, including a dedicated MSK room with footscan and treadmill facilities. You’ll also work alongside an associate Physiotherapist and have the support of an established administrative team.

Reaching Your Potential

This is where we think the opportunity really stands out.

Your first 12 weeks are structured to help you settle in properly, with induction, shadowing, mentoring and hands-on learning before gradually increasing your clinical independence.

Once you’re established, you’ll have protected CPD time every month, regular development support and a personalised progression plan. Our client is also prepared to fund specialist training aligned with your clinical interests.

They want Podiatrists to ask questions, discuss cases, share knowledge and understand the clinical reasoning behind what they’re doing, rather than simply following a treatment formula.

Whether you’re looking for your first opportunity after qualifying or you’re an experienced Podiatrist who wants somewhere that will continue investing in you, there’s genuine scope to shape where your career goes next.

We will contact all shortlisted candidates. Please note that we retain the right to close the advert early if a suitable candidate is appointed. Employment offers are subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks. Our client promotes diversity and equal opportunity.
