About the role

Job Purpose

  • To provide professional and practical Health & Safety consultancy and compliance support to Lighthouse Safety clients.
  • The role will involve working directly with clients to help them achieve and maintain Health & Safety compliance, identify risks and improve standards across their business.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Health & Safety advice and support to clients, both remotely and on site.
  • Conduct site inspections, audits and workplace safety observations.
  • Complete and review Risk Assessments, RAMS and COSHH Assessments.
  • Develop, review and update Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Support clients with PQQs, tenders and SSiP accreditations, including SMAS, CHAS and Constructionline.
  • Provide ongoing Health & Safety support to retained clients.
  • Identify risks and provide practical recommendations for improvement.
  • Assist clients with Health & Safety audits and accreditation requirements.
  • Deliver Toolbox Talks and, where required, Health & Safety training at client sites.
  • Complete client questionnaires and other compliance documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure all work is completed within agreed timescales.
  • Keep up to date with relevant Health & Safety legislation and industry best practice.
  • Work closely with the Lighthouse Safety team to deliver a high-quality service to clients.
  • Undertake other reasonable business-related duties as required.


Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent.
  • Practical Health & Safety experience, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Experience carrying out site inspections and risk assessments.
  • Experience producing RAMS and COSHH Assessments.
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation and compliance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confident providing advice and guidance to clients.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office.

Desirable

  • IOSH membership.
  • Construction management experience.
  • Experience with SMAS, CHAS, Constructionline or other SSiP accreditations.
  • Experience delivering Toolbox Talks or Health & Safety training.
  • Relevant additional Health & Safety qualifications.
