The NGS Operative role is working for an aerospace manufacturer in the Segensworth, Fareham area. The role is Monday to Thursday 2pm - Midnight. The basic salary for this position is up to £28,500, however, there is a 25% shift uplift bringing the salary up to £35,625.
The NGS Operative is responsible for the assembly of nitrogen generation systems used in aerospace applications. The role involves working strictly to engineering drawings, job cards and controlled build documentation to ensure components are assembled accurately and consistently to high-quality standards. A key part of the role is maintaining full traceability throughout the build process, including accurate completion of test sheets, batch records and other production documentation. The operative carries out inspections using manual and digital measuring tools to confirm components meet specification and supports quality processes such as MRB and NCR investigations when issues arise. The operative also supports production efficiency by meeting build times, minimising scrap and rework, reporting material or equipment issues, and helping to maintain testing equipment uptime. In addition, the role contributes to continuous improvement activities focused on improving consistency, reducing waste, and increasing process reliability, while maintaining strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping throughout.
You will need:
Previous manufacturing, production, assembly or machine operating experience
Previous experience working from job cards and engineering drawings
Experience using hand tools and measurement tools is advantageous
Excellent eye for detail
Strong communication and organisation
