VMU Manager Location: Rotherham Salary: £50,000 + Company Car Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Hours: Monday to Friday | 08:00 – 16:30 About the Role: We are seeking an experienced VMU Manager to oversee the daily operation of a busy commercial vehicle workshop supporting a fleet operation. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring all vehicles are maintained to the highest standards, maximising uptime, and ensuring full compliance across all fleet and workshop operations. Key Responsibilities: Manage the daily operations of the VMU/workshop Oversee servicing, maintenance, and repair of HGV and commercial vehicles Ensure full DVSA and legal compliance standards are met at all times Plan and prioritise workshop workload to maximise efficiency and reduce downtime Lead, manage, and develop workshop technicians and support staff Maintain accurate service, inspection, and compliance records Liaise with transport and operations teams to ensure fleet availability Control workshop costs, parts usage, and supplier performance Drive continuous improvement in safety, productivity, and workshop performance About You: Proven experience as a VMU Manager, Workshop Manager, or Fleet Maintenance Manager Strong background in HGV, transport, logistics, or commercial vehicle maintenance Excellent knowledge of DVSA compliance and fleet regulations Strong leadership and team management skills Highly organised with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability What’s on Offer: £50,000 basic salary Company car Monday to Friday | 08:00 – 16:30 Permanent, full-time position Stable and established fleet operation Opportunity to lead a busy and well-equipped workshop If this sounds like you, then click Apply
