Quantity Surveyor | National Grid Civils Framework Bristol & surrounding areas £43,000 - £54,000 + Car / Car Allowance + Benefits A well-established infrastructure contractor is looking to strengthen its commercial team with a Quantity Surveyor who wants to develop their career and take on genuine responsibility on this exciting contract with National Grid. The role sits within a long-term framework and involves delivering the civils works associated with the construction of new substations across the Bristol area. The framework is currently generating around £5m of work per year and covers a broad range of civil engineering activities, including enabling works, access roads, drainage, small structures and associated infrastructure. This is a particularly good opportunity for a QS who wants more than simply managing a package within a large project. You'll have the opportunity to take ownership, develop relationships with the client and delivery teams, and genuinely put your own mark on the framework as it continues to grow. The Role Working as part of an experienced commercial team, you'll be involved across the full commercial lifecycle, including: Managing commercial aspects of civils packages from tender through to final account Subcontract procurement and management Valuations, applications for payment and cost reporting Managing variations, change and commercial risk Supporting forecasting and financial reporting Working closely with the project and delivery teams Developing strong relationships with the client and supply chain Helping to identify opportunities to improve commercial performance across the framework You'll be working alongside a great team with plenty of experience, giving you the support and exposure needed to continue developing as a Quantity Surveyor. About You This role would suit a QS who is driven, commercially minded and keen to progress. You don't necessarily need years of experience. What's important is that you're someone who wants to learn, takes ownership of their work and is looking to build a long-term career within the civil engineering and infrastructure sectors. You'll ideally have: Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within construction or civil engineering A good understanding of commercial and contractual processes Strong communication and organisational skills The drive to take responsibility and develop A genuine interest in progressing your career The ability to build good working relationships with clients, subcontractors and colleagues Experience within infrastructure, utilities or civils would be advantageous, although the attitude and potential to develop are just as important.
