About the role
We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to support the development and implementation of manufacturing processes, production methods and continuous improvement initiatives within a complex engineering environment.
The role will involve working closely with engineering, production and other technical teams to improve manufacturing efficiency, quality and cost, while introducing new technologies and ways of working where appropriate.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts.
Support assembly, equipment installation, fabrication, processing and material handling activities.
Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency, quality and cost.
Introduce and support new manufacturing technologies, including automation, robotics and computer-aided manufacturing systems.
Use 3D model data to optimise manufacturing processes and develop digital work instructions.
Define manufacturing operations, procedures and build sequences based on materials, equipment and process requirements.
Assess the performance and efficiency of manufacturing equipment, tooling and associated technologies.
Investigate manufacturing issues and support corrective actions to improve performance.
Use manufacturing data to support statistical process control and continuous improvement.
Develop and support reporting and data analytics solutions to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
Provide manufacturing input into product design, helping to ensure designs can be effectively manufactured using appropriate equipment and processes.
Work collaboratively with engineering and production teams to deliver manufacturing improvements.
About You
The successful candidate will have experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment, with a good understanding of manufacturing processes and continuous improvement.
You will be comfortable working with engineering data and collaborating across different functions to identify problems and implement practical solutions.
Experience could include:
Manufacturing or Production Engineering.
Process development and optimisation.
Assembly, fabrication or production processes.
Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
3D CAD or model-based manufacturing environments.
Digital work instructions or manufacturing software.
Automation, robotics or other manufacturing technologies.
Statistical process control and manufacturing data analysis.
Equipment, tooling and process performance improvement.
Working closely with product design and engineering teams.A relevant engineering qualification or equivalent practical experience would be beneficial.
