Operations Manager – Engineering

Location: Coventry
Salary: £50,000–£55,000 DOE

We're recruiting an experienced Operations Manager for a long-established engineering business based in the Coventry area.

The Role

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing the daily operation of the engineering workshop
• Leading, motivating and developing engineers, technicians and apprentices
• Planning workloads and allocating labour, machinery and resources
• Monitoring work in progress, turnaround times and delivery dates
• Ensuring repair, overhaul and manufacturing work meets customer requirements
• Managing workshop productivity, utilisation and performance
• Maintaining high standards of health, safety and quality
• Reviewing job costs, labour hours and material usage
• Identifying and resolving workshop delays or technical issues
• Coordinating equipment maintenance and workshop improvements
• Supporting quotations, job planning and technical reviews
• Liaising with customers, suppliers and internal departments
• Recruiting, training and developing workshop employees
• Driving continuous improvement across processes and working practices
