Senior EcologistLocation: Hampshire, Surrey or SussexWorking arrangement: Home-basedSalary: Competitive, dependent on experienceThe OpportunityAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Ecologist to join a growing environmental services business with a strong track record across environmental consultancy, land, water, remediation and environmental compliance.The role would suit an experienced ecologist looking for the flexibility of a home-based position, while continuing to work on a varied portfolio of projects across the South of England.You'll play an important role in delivering ecological assessments and advice for clients, while also contributing to project delivery, technical work and the continued development of the ecology offering.What You'll Be DoingDelivering and managing a range of ecological surveys and assessmentsProviding ecological advice to clients across a variety of projectsSupporting and delivering Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) assessments and solutionsPreparing technical reports and ecological documentationWorking alongside colleagues across environmental, land, water and remediation disciplinesSupporting junior ecologists and contributing to their professional developmentLiaising with clients, contractors, consultants and other stakeholdersHelping to develop new opportunities and strengthen client relationshipsWhat We're Looking ForWe're looking for an experienced ecologist with a strong consultancy background and the ability to work independently.Ideally, you'll have:Senior-level ecological consultancy experienceStrong knowledge of UK ecology and relevant legislationExperience with BNG, ideally including calculations and deliveryFISC Level 4 would be highly desirableExperience producing high-quality ecological reportsStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsThe ability to manage your own workload and deliver projects to deadlinesA full UK driving licenceWhy Join?This is a great opportunity to join a business operating across a broad range of environmental disciplines, giving you exposure to interesting and varied projects without sacrificing the flexibility of home-based working.You'll have the opportunity to take on genuine responsibility, work with a multidisciplinary team and play a key role in the continued growth of the ecology function.If you're an experienced Ecologist based in Hampshire, Surrey or Sussex and are looking for your next step, this could be worth exploring.About us: Allen & York have been matching purposeful people with purpose-led organisations for 30 years.
