About you: Possess at least 1 year of recent payroll processing experience in a computerised environment Strong understanding of payroll procedures, tax, national insurance, and pension administration Knowledge of Local Government Terms and Conditions is highly desirable Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy Proficient in Microsoft Office and payroll systems Demonstrates a professional, courteous approach when dealing with internal and external stakeholders What you'll do: Ensure timely payment of salaries, wages, and allowances to staff and elected members in accordance with relevant regulations Prepare and validate payroll data, including variable hours, deductions, and statutory payments Maintain accurate employee records and process all changes such as new starts, leavers, and rate adjustments Manage pension records and ensure compliance with statutory guidelines xwzovoh Handle payroll-related enquiries efficiently and professionally Assist in preparing statutory returns and manage real-time information submissions to HMRC Support payroll system updates, participate in process improvements, and contribute to policy documentation Be ready to adapt and respond to urgent payroll matters, including error investigation and urgent payments For further information on this job, apply via the link or contact Jamie Gault for a confidential chat today.
