About the role
We are currently seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join a major highways infrastructure project in Norwich on a long-term freelance basis.
Key Responsibilities
* Setting out and surveying works on site
* Ensuring works are delivered in line with drawings and specifications
* Managing QA documentation and inspection records
* Conducting site checks and quality assurance processes
* Liaising with subcontractors, site management, and design teams
* Supporting delivery of highways, drainage, and earthworks packages
* Maintaining health & safety standards across site activities
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Site Engineer on highways or major civils projects
* Strong knowledge of Quality Assurance procedures and documentation
* Competent with setting out equipment and surveying techniques
* Experience with highways, drainage, kerbing, or earthworks preferred
* CSCS card essential
* SMSTS or SSSTS beneficial
* Ability to work independently and as part of a wider delivery team
Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and confident managing QA processes within a fast-paced highways environment. Previous experience on large infrastructure schemes is highly desirable.
