Location: West Midlands | Site-based, full-time
Salary: Up to £43,900.91 per year
If you enjoy finding the cause of a fault and getting equipment running again, this role offers plenty to get involved in. Youll combine electrical maintenance with troubleshooting, outage work and improvements that help prevent repeat problems.
The Opportunity
Were recruiting for an Electrician to join an industrial plant maintenance team. Working closely with operations, youll see how your work directly contributes to the sites performance.
Key Responsibilities
Keep equipment reliable: Complete planned maintenance, identify deterioration and address defects before they cause disruption.
Investigate electrical faults: Trace circuits and cables, diagnose problems and carry out repairs across low-voltage systems.
Work across varied equipment: Maintain and test installations including motors, lighting, small power and control wiring.
Support planned outages: Help prepare maintenance activities, arrange parts and liaise with contractors.
Respond to breakdowns: Assess problems safely and work with colleagues to restore equipment.
Help prioritise work: Liaise with operations and review overnight issues when maintenance supervisors are absent.
Improve maintenance: Record findings, flag recurring issues and suggest changes to procedures.
What Were Looking For
Essential: A recognised electrical qualification or apprenticeship, practical electrical experience, drawing-reading ability, initiative and basic IT skills.
Desirable: Motor testing, PLC/DCS wiring, 18th Edition and relevant industrial safety training.
