Carpentry Estimator

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Estimator to join a growing specialist subcontractor delivering carpentry, doorset and associated packages across residential and commercial construction projects. The role will focus on pricing and tendering larger subcontract packages for main contractors, Tier 1 contractors and housebuilders. The Role You will be responsible for managing the estimating process from initial enquiry through to tender submission, working closely with suppliers, clients and the wider commercial team. Typical works include: • Fire doors and doorsets • 1st & 2nd fix carpentry • Window boards • Internal carpentry packages  • Associated specialist joinery / carpentry works Typical tender values range from smaller packages through to £1m+, with larger projects reaching approximately £2m–£2.3m. Key Responsibilities • Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation • Completing accurate take-offs and preparing cost estimates • Obtaining and comparing supplier and subcontractor quotations • Preparing and submitting competitive tenders • Tracking tenders, enquiries and upcoming opportunities • Identifying commercial risks and opportunities during the tender process • Liaising with clients, suppliers and internal teams  • Supporting the continued growth of the carpentry and doorset division The Candidate We are looking for someone who: • Has previous estimating experience within carpentry, joinery, doorsets or a similar specialist subcontracting environment • Is comfortable pricing packages for main contractors, Tier 1 contractors and housebuilders • Has strong take-off and tendering experience • Is commercially aware, organised and able to manage multiple enquiries • Can build strong relationships with suppliers and clients  • Ideally has experience pricing larger subcontract packages The position will predominantly be office based, particularly while getting familiar with the business, although some flexibility may be available for an experienced candidate
