Our client encourages a learning culture and they embrace cutting-edge technology which will allow you to hone relevant, in-demand skills.They are a rapidly scaling company, so this is a prime opportunity to get your foot in the door and join a dynamic, high-performance team on an exciting trajectory!Our client is offering an annual salary up to 70k, dependent on experience and skillset.What we’re looking for: Graduate with a relevant degree in Computer Science / Engineering or similar, with c1+ years’ relevant work experience, ideally within FinTech, TMS or SaaS (including interns)Proven production experience building and operating backend services (e.g. Node.js/Express, Python), with a technology-agnostic mindset and the ability to adapt to evolving stacksFamiliarity with AWS (i.e. ECS/EKS, Lambda, SQS, EventBridge, RDS/DynamoDB, S3)Experience designing RESTful and event-driven APIsRelational data modelling skills (financial or transactional systems advantageous)Experience with concurrency, locking, idempotency and distributed consistencyExperience with message queues, background workers and workflow orchestrationExperience integrating AI/ML or decisioning services into backend platformsComfortable building systems that consume AI outputs and execute deterministic actionsAbility to design safety, audit and rollback mechanisms around automated executionUnderstanding of the role context plays in designing a modern AI-native systemHands-on experience deploying and operating Node.js services on AWSExperience with CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code and containerised workloadsDrive to improve as an Engineer – eager to work with peers who push and support each other to continuously improveStrong communication skills and the ability to liaise at all levelsCollaborative nature – ability to work independently and as part of a teamAbility and desire to work in a fast-paced, rapid-growth environmentHighly ambitious, driven and focusedInterested in this fantastic Backend Engineer opportunity?  If this role is of interest to you and you have the passion, skills, knowledge and expertise we’re looking for, we’d love to hear from you!Follow us on LinkedIn.
