Responsible To: Operations Department
Hours: Monday Friday 10:00 14:00 (20 hours per week)
Location: Sheepbridge, Chesterfield
Salary: £13,700 per annum
Role Purpose:
To deal effectively and efficiently with all aspects of Transport Administration, managing the day-to-day operations of transportation within a company, ensuring the efficient and safe movement of goods, people, or vehicles. This role involves coordination, logistics, compliance, and customer service.
Key Tasks:
Plan, coordinate, scheduling transportation routes for vehicles, booking slots for deliveries, using various IT systems.
Checking & Authorising invoices.
Maintaining our EPOD system, ensuring hauliers are in compliance with the correct processes.
Assisting the transport department with day-to-day tasks.
Ensuring driver paperwork is up to date and issued correctly.
Liaise with suppliers and sales team regarding transportation requirements and schedules.
Communicate effectively with drivers, clients, and other departments to resolve transportation issues or delays.
Provide excellent customer service by responding to queries related to delivery times, schedules, or complaints.
Troubleshoot problems and find quick resolutions to avoid disruption in transportation.
Prepare regular reports on transportation metrics such as delivery times, costs, and efficiency.
Candidate Profile:
Experience: Previous experience in transportation, logistics, or a related field is highly beneficial.
Communication: Strong communication skills to interact effectively with drivers, clients, and suppliers.
Organisational Skills: Strong planning, scheduling, and organizational abilities.
Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly identify problems and find practical solutions.
Technical Skills: Familiarity with transportation management software and systems. xwzovoh
