Role Overview
A market-leading consultancy is seeking three Principal Cloud DevOps Engineers with deep GCP expertise for their Digital Data team. Based ideally in Bristol (London also considered), this role focuses on delivering ingenious GCP solutions across sectors including financial services, government, energy, and transport. Hybrid working applies: minimum two days per week in office or on client site. SC/PC clearance desirable. Package: £80k-£105k base for proven performers (max £110k), plus bonus, pension, private healthcare, 25 days holiday, and share ownership.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture discussions and own DevSecOps processes across teams, implementing robust patterns.
• Design and deliver GCP solutions using services like Cloud Functions, Kubernetes Engine, VPCs, BigQuery, Vertex AI, and Security Command Centre.
• Engage directly with clients as a key point of contact, coaching teams and shaping proposals.
• Drive technical account management, event-driven architectures, microservices, and automation with Terraform, Cloud Build.
• Mentor juniors, share expertise, and ensure high standards in client delivery.

Candidate Profile

• Strong commercial GCP delivery across multiple projects; certifications advantageous.
• Expertise in one or more: Cloud Run/Functions, GKE/Compute, VPC/Service Perimeters, Spanner/SQL/BigQuery, Apigee/API Gateway, Vertex AI.
• Sound grasp of microservices, event-driven systems, databases, Python/Node/Bash scripting, secured infrastructures.
• Experience with other clouds, automation, and client-facing influence at senior levels.
• Pragmatic communicator able to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders; problem-solver obsessed with outcomes.
