We are seeking an experienced Consultant in Old Age Psychiatry to work part-time for our NHS client based in Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire. This locum opportunity is available for an immediate start.
What will your responsibilities be?
This role involves working across community mental health teams (CMHT) and inpatient settings, delivering specialist psychiatric care to older adults. You will be responsible for conducting assessments, developing and overseeing treatment plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality mental health services. The postholder will also participate in ward rounds, clinical meetings, and maintain documentation in line with NHS standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- GMC registration (essential)
- Section 12 approval and Approved Clinician status
- Inclusion on the Specialist Register (CCT)
- Experience in old age psychiatry, including CMHT and inpatient care
- Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills
- A commitment to delivering patient-centred care
