Shop Manager – Full Time

We are looking to recruit a new shop manager for our shop in Hunters Bridge Road, Galashiels. This is a permanent full‑time position, requiring a flexible availability across the week, including weekends.

Work Hours and Salary

Hours: 45 hours across 5 days per week.

Pay: £34,262 – £39,889 per annum (45‑hour contract).

Responsibilities

• Lead by example and participate in daily shop operations.
• Motivate and inspire your team to run an efficient shop and provide excellent service.
• Recruit, induct and develop your team through coaching, mentoring and feedback.
• Be fully accountable for the shop, ensuring customers are looked after, deliveries are processed quickly, and routines maintain a safe, clean and tidy environment.
• Control key shop costs – including shrinkage, waste and payroll – to achieve KPI targets.
• Meet standards in customer service, cash handling, health & safety, stock management, merchandising and presentation.

Qualifications and Requirements

• People person, able to build strong working relationships.
• Trustworthy, reliable, and dependable.
• Experience as a manager or assistant manager.
• Full driving licence desirable; non‑licence still welcome if other criteria met.
• Will complete Employment Verification check and Basic DBS/Disclosure Scotland check if successful.
