Commercial Account Executive Location: York Working Hours: Ideally a full-time position (Monday–Friday, 9:00 am–5:00 pm), predominantly office-based with some WFH flexibility Salary: £30,000-£40,000 per annum Our client, a long-established, leading independent Insurance Broker and Financial Services Adviser in the Yorkshire region, is actively seeking a Commercial Account Executive to join their friendly team at their York city centre location.

They can source cover for simple self-employed liability enquiries right through to complex portfolios for businesses turning over millions of pounds.

The Role This is a varied role involving processing new business quotes, mid-term adjustments, and renewals, as well as supporting and guiding customers through claims where required.
Larger, more complex cases may require client visits where appropriate.
Classes of business can include Commercial Combined, Business Packages, Liability, Charities, Property Owner, Construction, Fleet, D&O, P.I., Cyber, and others.
Key Responsibilities Maintain relationships with both clients and insurers Prepare market presentations and place risks to market, including online portals & schemes Prepare for renewal by reviewing existing client needs Negotiate terms in respect of both price and policy coverage Compare cover options, assess suitability, and build quotations, letters or reports as appropriate Instruct insurers in good time, check and issue policy documentation Invoice, arrange finance, and process card payments Ensure all details of calls, correspondence and risk details are recorded on systems Diary all outstanding matters and follow up as appropriate Maintain and update knowledge of insurance products, services and markets No targets – not led by conversion rates and no cold calling.

There is no prerequisite to bring a book of business, as there is an existing client base to service.
