About the role
Team IntroductionOur Global Legal team provides key support for all TikTok’s innovative initiatives, state-of-the-art products, and integrated platforms servicing our global video market. We help our technological and business teams enable their vision by providing integrated legal guidance and support. The TikTok team is growing fast and is seeking highly experienced, bright and capable legal professionals to join the team. The Global Employment Law team provides strategic and practical legal advice to Human Resources and business stakeholders globally, and handles litigation matters involving TikTok in all the regions in which TikTok operates.Responsibilities- Serve as the primary legal lead and program manager for the employee data subject response team, overseeing the end-to-end management of employee data subject rights requests.- Continuously improve the operational framework for employee data subject requests, including developing and maintaining templates, guidance, standard operating procedures, and governance materials to support a scalable and consistent program.- Partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders, including Employment Legal, HR Privacy Legal, and internal business teams to coordinate timely, compliant responses to employee privacy requests.- Develop and utilize data-driven insights to provide clear reporting and recommendations to internal stakeholders and leadership.- Provide practical, responsive advice regarding complex employment matters and support broader legal counseling across the employment lifecycle.- Deliver training and guidance to relevant stakeholders on employee privacy obligations, response procedures, and emerging legal developments.Minimum Qualifications- Qualified lawyer in the UK, Ireland, or another relevant jurisdiction, or equivalent legal qualification with strong relevant in-house or law firm experience.- Significant experience advising on privacy, data protection, and/or employment law issues, including employee data matters.- Strong knowledge of UK and EU data protection frameworks and employee privacy requirements.- Experience managing or advising on data subject rights requests, regulatory response processes, investigations, or related data governance matters.- Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects and drive operational processes in a fast-paced environment.- Excellent legal judgment, written communication, and stakeholder management skills.Preferred Qualifications- In-house experience supporting employee privacy, HR legal, or employment counseling matters in a multinational organization.- Experience working across the UK, Ireland, and broader EMEA region.- Familiarity with HR systems, records management, retention frameworks, and incident response considerations involving employee data.- Demonstrated ability to build or enhance scalable compliance programs and operational workflows.- Privacy certification such as CIPP/E, CIPM, or similar is a plus.Req ID: A
