This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading UK law firm with a highly regarded insurance practice. Our client acts for a broad range of insurers, corporate and public sector clients, handling complex and high-value property damage disputes across a variety of sectors. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, the team is looking to appoint an experienced Property Damage Senior Associate or Legal Director to its Manchester office.
Your new role
You will play a key role within an established property damage team, managing a varied caseload of high-value and technically complex disputes. The work will include:
- Major property damage claims arising from fire, flood, escape of water, explosion and structural failures.
- Subrogated recovery actions.
- Policy coverage and indemnity disputes.
- Construction-related property damage claims.
- Product liability and recovery claims.
- Large loss litigation in the High Court.
- Managing client relationships with leading insurer and corporate clients.
- Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers.
- Supporting business development initiatives and strengthening existing client relationships.
- Contributing to the strategic growth of the team.
For candidates applying at Legal Director level, there will be an increased emphasis on leadership, client development and helping to drive the continued growth of the practice.
What you'll need to succeed
- You should be a qualified solicitor with significant experience handling defendant property damage litigation.
- Applications are welcomed from Senior Associates, Legal Directors and experienced Managing Associates with:
- Strong property damage, insurance litigation or subrogated recovery experience.
- Experience managing large loss and technically complex claims.
- Excellent client relationship and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong technical drafting and litigation skills.
- Experience supervising junior team members.
- A commercial and pragmatic approach to dispute resolution.
Candidates with experience of property damage, construction disputes, professional indemnity, casualty or broader insurance litigation backgrounds are also encouraged to apply where they can demonstrate relevant transferable expertise.
