Works Manager
Exeter
Are you an experienced construction professional looking for your next challenge? RGB Recruitment is working with a well-established contractor to recruit a Works Manager to oversee a growing portfolio of small works projects across the region, typically valued between a couple hundred thousand to £2 million.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected business where you'll have the autonomy to manage projects from pre-construction through to completion, build strong client relationships, and play a key role in the continued growth of the division. Key Responsibilities
Lead the delivery of multiple small works projects from inception through to completion.
Support business development and contribute to the continued growth of the division.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
Oversee project programmes, budgets, procurement and resource planning.
Monitor project progress, manage risks and provide regular updates to senior management and clients.
Ensure all contractual obligations are met and projects are delivered in line with programme and budget.
Manage tendering and pre-construction activities where required.
Lead, motivate and develop project teams, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance.
Recruit, train and mentor staff to encourage continued professional development.
Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, company policies and industry standards.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement best practices across the business.
Resolve project and contractual issues in a professional and timely manner.
Skills & Experience
Proven experience in a Works Manager, Contracts Manager or similar management role within the construction industry.
Experience delivering construction projects valued up to £2 million.
Strong leadership, organisational and decision-making skills.
Excellent commercial awareness with experience managing project budgets and financial performance.
Ability to work independently, prioritise workloads and solve problems effectively.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Relevant construction qualifications, including SMSTS, First Aid at Work and a CSCS Card.
Full UK driving licence.
