Senior Quantity Surveyor – Civil Engineering Location: Bristol Rate: £300–£500 per day Contract: Contract / Freelance Sector: Civil Engineering CIS/Non CIS - Non CIS About the Role We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a civil engineering project in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused Quantity Surveyor with strong civil engineering experience to take responsibility for the commercial management of projects, working closely with the project delivery and commercial teams. Key Responsibilities * Take responsibility for the commercial management of civil engineering projects. * Manage project costs, budgets, forecasts and cash flow. * Prepare and manage applications for payment, valuations and final accounts. * Manage subcontractor accounts, payments and variations. * Review and assess changes, variations and compensation events. * Monitor project performance and identify commercial risks and opportunities. * Prepare accurate monthly cost/value reports and forecasts. * Assist with procurement and subcontractor negotiations. * Manage contractual and commercial correspondence. * Work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, clients and subcontractors. * Provide commercial advice to the project team. * Ensure contractual obligations and commercial procedures are followed. * Support the successful delivery of projects within budget and programme. About You The successful candidate will have: * Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering. * Strong commercial and contractual knowledge. * Experience managing civil engineering projects and subcontract packages. * Experience with valuations, variations, final accounts and cost reporting. * Strong negotiation and communication skills. * Excellent attention to detail and commercial awareness. * The ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. * A relevant Quantity Surveying or construction-related qualification is desirable. * Experience with NEC contracts would be advantageous.
