Job Description Are you a Weapons, Ordnance, Munitions and Explosives (WOME) Engineer looking for your next opportunity within the defence sector? Evodia Limited is working with a leading defence client to find a WOME Advisor based in Bristol, offering an engaging role until 31 March 2027, with the potential for contract extension. \n This position is ideal for someone with extensive experience in WOME management along with engineering management and stakeholder engagement experience across both industry and international environments. The role combines site presence with remote work, requiring one day onsite per week and periodic visits to platforms undergoing dockings—up to twice a month. Position Highlights:\n \n Location: Bristol, with flexible remote working \n Contract: Until 31/03/2027, with scope for extension \n Security Clearance: Active SC clearance required \n Day Rate: Up to £440 (excluding VAT) \n Your Key Responsibilities: \n \n Providing WOME support to the Hydrographic and Patrol (H&P) Platform Authority (PA) \n Assisting ship staff with onboard explosive management activities \n Managing Class Explosive Safety Case and Hazard Logs to demonstrate compliance with MAP 01-103 \n Supporting Naval Authority Certification processes in line with DSA02.OME and DSA03. DMR standards \n Supporting installation, inspection, and certification of various weapons systems \n Collaborating with Naval Authorities and contractors on explosive modelling and consequence analyses \n Participating in high-level platform and equipment safety reviews as a PA OME representative \n Supporting life-cycle stages of H&P units, including docking, operational support, and during global deployments \n What We're Looking For: \n \n Robust WOME experience in a defence environment \n Proven engineering management and stakeholder engagement experience across industry and international settings \n Desirable Skills & Qualifications:\n \n Engineering qualification at HNC level or higher \n Professional registration such as EngTech or IEng \n Maritime or naval sector experience would be advantageous \n \n If you are ready to contribute your expertise to a critical maritime programme and meet the essential criteria, we encourage you to apply.
