Engineering Lead

Reference: BH-69885 We're supporting a leading food production business in their search for an Engineering Lead to join their engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer with leadership experience to take ownership of maintenance operations, drive continuous improvement, and develop a proactive engineering culture. You'll play a key role in ensuring equipment reliability, maximising uptime, and supporting operational performance across the site. Core Duties:Leading and supporting the engineering team to deliver safe, reliable, and cost-effective maintenance activitiesManaging planned preventative maintenance programmes and driving improvements through the CMMS systemProviding hands-on support with mechanical and electrical fault finding and breakdown responsePrioritising engineering activities in line with production requirements to minimise downtimeLeading engineering projects, working closely with suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholdersIdentifying and delivering improvements to equipment reliability, safety, and operational efficiencyDeveloping safe systems of work and engineering proceduresCoaching, mentoring, and developing the engineering team to improve capability and performanceMonitoring engineering output to ensure high standards of workmanship and complianceBuilding effective relationships with contractors and ensuring all required documentation and procedures are in placeAbout You:Previous experience leading, mentoring, and developing engineering teamsStrong mechanical or electrical engineering backgroundLevel 3 qualification in Mechanical or Electrical EngineeringHands-on approach to maintenance and fault findingExperience working within a manufacturing, production, or FMCG environmentStrong communication and organisational skillsAbility to work under pressure and manage competing prioritiesProactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvementTeam player with the ability to lead from the frontThis is an urgent requirement and applications will be reviewed at speed.
