Assistant Plant & Transport Manager

Location: Southampton Salary: £34,000 - £36,000  Hours: Monday to Friday The Role We are seeking an organised and proactive Assistant Plant & Transport Manager to support the day-to-day running of a busy construction fleet. This role will suit someone with experience in plant hire, transport, or fleet administration who can manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. You will support the management of a fleet of 300 vehicles, plant, and various tools, as well as coordinating hired-in equipment when required. Assistant Plant & Transport Manager Key Responsibilities: Support daily plant and transport operations. Manage fleet and plant records  Coordinate hired-in vehicles, plant, and equipment. Liaise with suppliers, drivers, engineers, and site teams. Complete general administration and reporting. Maintain spreadsheets using Excel and manage communications via Outlook. Assist with compliance, servicing schedules, and inspections.Requirements needed from the Assistant Plant & Transport Manager: Experience within plant, construction, transport, or fleet management. Good understanding of plant and vehicle hire. Strong administration and organisational skills. Confident using Excel and Outlook. Ability to work under pressure and think on your feet.
