This is a broad, hands‑on Financial Controller role with ownership of the full finance function, reporting directly to the CEO. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong controls and supporting informed business decisions. You will manage the day to day finance operations while also identifying opportunities to improve processes, introduce efficiencies and leverage technology to support the continued growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and performance commentary
  • Oversee multi-currency treasury, cash management and forecasting
  • Manage accounts payable, expenses and payment processes
  • Run payroll, pensions and statutory payments with outsourced support
  • Support VAT, PAYE, corporation tax and R&D claim processes
  • Maintain strong month‑end controls, including journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations
  • Support preparation of annual statutory accounts

The Person

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA), or qualified by experience
  • Experience managing a broad finance remit with ownership of core accounting processes and reporting
  • Comfortable working with finance systems and technology to improve efficiency and accuracy
  • Commercially minded with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights
  • Interested in leveraging technology and automation to improve processes and reporting
  • Detail‑oriented, reliable and comfortable working autonomously in a high‑performing team
